TV anchor Amrita Rai files hacking complaint

Darpan News Desk Darpan, 01 May, 2014 10:10 AM
A day after her intimate photographs with Congress leader Digvijaya Singh appeared on a social networking site, TV anchor Amrita Rai Thursday lodged a police complaint, saying her email and social network accounts were hacked.

"She (Rai) complained that her accounts on Gmail, Facebook and Twitter were hacked. The crime branch has registered a case under the IT Act," a Delhi Police crime branch official said.

Twitter Wednesday was abuzz with news of the revelation of the affair between 67-year-old Digvijaya Singh, a former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh, and Rai, a Rajya Sabha TV anchor.

Both accepted they were in a relationship and will marry soon.

Digvijaya Singh posted two tweets, acknowledging the relationship with Rai.

"I have no hesitation in accepting my relationship with Amrita Rai. She and her husband have already filed a mutual consent divorce case."

"Once that is decided we would formalise it. But I do condemn encroachment in our private life," he posted.

Rai separately tweeted: "I have separated from my husband and we have filed a mutual consent divorce papers. After which I have decided to marry with Digvijaya Singh."
