TikTok Reunites Tamil Nadu Woman With ‘Missing’ Husband

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Jul, 2019 08:28 PM

In an interesting chain of events, a woman from Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu spotted her “missing” husband in a 15-second video on TikTok.

The woman, Jayaprada, is a mother of two kids whose husband Suresh left her three years ago. She found him dancing in a TikTok video that a relative had showed her.

Jayaprada had filed an FIR when her husband left her. She took the video to share with police, local reports said.

Police found Suresh a native of Krishnagiri in Hosur city and persuaded him to return to his wife and two kids.

Suresh said he ran away in 2016 because of “family differences”, the reports said.

Recently, a 24-year old mother of two children committed suicide in Tamil Nadu after her husband forbade her from using TikTiok. Anitha recorded a video of her drinking poison, and then sent it to her husband who was in Singapore.

Press reports said Anitha's husband Pazhanivel did not like her addiction to the platform. Owned by Chinese company ByteDance, the short video-sharing platform has over 200 million users in India.
