Even amidst turbulent times, farmers organised a “Kisan Conference” on the occasion of Vaisakhi which marks the birth of Khalsa.
The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Ugrahan president Joginder Singh Ugrahan announced that he will fight til the agricultural laws introduced by the Narendra Modi's BJP government are repealed.
Farmers union president Ugrahan made the bold announcement that on April 21 thousands of farmers including youth, and women from Punjab would once again march towards Delhi.
He emphasized that the current Modi government is ruled by capitalism and divide farmers struggle based on the Sikh community and establishing it only as a Sikh struggle.
Another Sanyukt Kisan Morcha representative Balbir Singh Rajewal shared his thoughts on the farmers’ struggle which he stated started from Punjab and has turned into a mass struggle of the farmers of the entire nation and is garnering support from not just Indians in India but also outside of India.
