Shocking Video: 19-Year-Old Girl Out For Stroll At Chandigarh’s Sukhna Lake Killed By Lightning Strike

    A 19-year-old girl, who had arrived at Sukhna Lake with her friends, died after being struck by lightning on August 15.


    There were a large number of people at the spot, who were left shocked after the incident.


    The police said the victim has been identified as Tamanna, a resident of Dera Bassi.



    She had arrived at the lake with her friends. The police said as soon as she reached a few metres ahead of the police post at Sukhna Lake, lightning struck her, leaving her unconscious. The incident was reported around 4 pm.


    Visitors and cops present at the lake rushed to the rescue of the victim, who was taken to Government Multi Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared her brought dead.


    There was a CCTV camera outside the police post in which the incident was recorded.


    The police have initiated inquest proceedings at the Sector 3 police station.
