In an incident of alleged sacrilege, a few pages of the Sikh holy book were on Saturday found torn in a gurudwara in Dev Kiri Afgana area in Gurdaspur, police said.

A member of the gurudwara’s management committee Harjinder Singh alleged that he found four pages of holy book-Guru Granth Sahib-torn when he opened the door of the gurudwara on Saturday morning, they said.

“The priest later brought the matter to the notice of local management committee. The management took the Guru Granth Sahib to the Gurudwara Dam Dama Sahib in Sri Hargobindpur from where it was sent to Goindwal Sahib,” a police spokesperson said.
