Ratan Tata appointed on Interpol Foundation board

    Tata Sons' Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata has been appointed to the board of Interpol Foundation to contribute to its two global initiatives.
     
    Interpol Foundation said it was "honoured that Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata has accepted to sit on its board of trustees and contribute to the success of the Protecting Cultural Property, and Modernising Channels of International Judicial Cooperation initiatives".
     
    The board of trustees of Interpol Foundation is headed by HSH Albert II de Monaco, Honorary President and Elias Murr, President.
     
    The other members are HSBC chief executive officer (CEO) Stuart Gulliver, Credit Agricole Chairman Jean-Marie Sander, Abraaj Capital Chairman and CEO Arif Naqvi and Renault-Nissan Alliance Chairman and CEO Carlos Ghosn.
     
    The other initiatives taken up by the foundation are I-Chekit -- for protecting airlines hotels and banks from threats of identity fraud; protecting banks and financial institutions and INVEX -- fight against transnational vehicle crime and theft.
     
    "Other initiatives will be announced in 2015 and entrusted to other members of the Board of Trustees," Interpol Foundation said.
