Punjab to undertake health audit of all citizens

    The Punjab government will undertake health audit of all citizens in the state for achieving the goal of health for all, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal announced Wednesday.
     
    Presiding over the first meeting of the state health mission here, Badal asked the health department to chalk out a comprehensive plan in this regard.
     
    He said all modalities to issue a health card to every citizen of the state as a part of health audit should be worked out.
     
    "The people should lead a healthy, prosperous and cheerful life," Badal, 86, said.
     
    He said health facilities should reach all citizens through mobile health vans in far-flung areas also.
     
    Punjab has a population of over 2.77 crore, according to the 2011 census.
