Punjab sets up helpline for Indians stuck in Ukraine

Chandigarh, Feb 25 (IANS) The Punjab government on Friday said it has set up a dedicated round-the-clock control room to help people from the state stuck up in war-hit Ukraine.
An official spokesperson said the affected people or their relatives could call from within Punjab on helpline number 1100 and others from outside India on +91-172-4111905 for seeking information in this regard.
The queries on the helpline numbers would be immediately forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs for evacuation of persons.
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Wednesday urged the Punjab government not to make 1,000 guest faculty assistant professors unemployed as they have been handling the education system in government colleges for years.
