Punjab sets up helpline for Indians stuck in Ukraine

Chandigarh, Feb 25 (IANS) The Punjab government on Friday said it has set up a dedicated round-the-clock control room to help people from the state stuck up in war-hit Ukraine.
An official spokesperson said the affected people or their relatives could call from within Punjab on helpline number 1100 and others from outside India on +91-172-4111905 for seeking information in this regard.
The queries on the helpline numbers would be immediately forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs for evacuation of persons.
Sharing details, Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Iqbal Preet Singh Sahota said keeping in view the recent recoveries of RDX, hand grenades and pistols from the border district, strong barricading has been done.
