Punjab initiates 'Swachh' drive with old files

    The Punjab government Tuesday launched its clean up drive to weed out old and obsolete files from its departments under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
     
    The drive started Tuesday from the Punjab Civil Secretariat here with General Administration Secretary M.S. Narang overseeing the weeding out of old and obsolete files from various government departments.
     
    "The campaign started in the morning with every department doing classification and documentation of files as per official norms and separating obsolete files. Care is being taken to organise the filing system in a scientific and modern manner keeping in view safety of record and its easy retrieval," a state government spokesperson said here.
     
    The spokesperson said that each branch head has been made accountable for completion of the campaign under a scheduled timeline and has been asked to convey its progress to the general administration department.
