Punjab Governor Badnore appointed Chandigarh Administrator

    Punjab Governor V.P. Singh Badnore was on Thursday appointed the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
     
     
    "President Pranab Mukherjee has been pleased to appoint V.P. Singh Badnore to be the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, in addition to his duties as Governor of Punjab," said a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique.
     
    He has a keen interest in environmental and matters.
     
    He was chairperson of the Special Task Force to rehabilitate tigers in Sariska from 2005 to 2009 and later served as a member on the Rajasthan Board for the preservation of Wildlife and on the steering committee of Project Tiger.
     
    Badnore is a graduate in business management from Government College, Ajmer.
     
    Badnore, a Bharatiya Janata Party leader from Rajasthan, was appointed the Punjab Governor on Wednesday.
     
    The poll-bound state got a regular Governor after a gap of around 18 months. 
     
    Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki was sworn in as Governor of Punjab in January 2015.
