Punjab Gangster, Out On Parole, Killed While Dancing At Brother's Baaraat In Malerkotla

    Out on parole, gangster Abdul Rashid was shot dead in Malerkotla in the Sangrur district of Punjab on Monday night by a rival gang.


    Police said Abdul Rashid alias Guddu was shot dead while he was dancing when he got a call around 8.30 pm.


    The caller asked Guddu to step out, police said.


    As he stepped out of the hall, unidentified assailants fired indiscriminately at Abdul Rashid.


    Another person who was standing close to Guddu was also reportedly injured in the firing incident which created panic in the area. The injured was identified as Arun Chauhan, an employee of Punjab Electricity Board. His condition was stated serious.


    Police have registered a case against unidentified people and started further investigation.
