Punjab Gangster Dilpreet Baba Who Shot Singer Parmish Verma Nabbed From Chandigarh

Darpan News Desk IANS, 09 Jul, 2018 10:37 AM
Dreaded gangster Dilpreet Singh Baba who had allegedly shot dead a Sarpanch in Sector 38 last year and also fired at famous Punjabi Singer Parmish Verma in Mohali earlier this year, has been arrested by the Chandigarh police in a joint Operation with Punjab Police, today morning.

Dilpreet was arrested from near ISBT Sector 43. The gangster was nabbed after a dramatic chase that saw him open fire at the police forcing retaliatory fire.

Baba was fleeing when the police party lead by Incharge, Crime branch, UT  Amanjot Singh dashed their SUV into his vehicle bringing it to a halt. In the police firing Dilpreet suffered gun shots and was rushed to PGI.

The gangsters suspected to be involved in the attack on Punjabi singer and video director Parmish Verma has a history of targeting people with a modus operandi of shooting in their legs, perhaps with the intent to terrify them.

This is evident from the fact that the miscreants, while shooting a sarpanch in Sector 38 last year, had fired on his legs, though the sarpanch died later. Similarly Dilpreet Singh Dhahan’s accomplice Harvinder Singh, alias Rinda, also suspected to be involved in the attack on Parmish, had shot a Panjab University leader in his thighs.

The gangsters, Dilpreet Singh, Rinda, Harjinder Singh, alias Akash, and Manjit Singh, alias Bobby, had shot Satnam Singh, sarpanch of Khurda village in Garhdiwala, Hoshiarpur, outside a gurdwara in Sector 38, Chandigarh, in April 2017.

Earlier this year the Punjabi singer was shot at in Mohali  while returning to his flat, along with his friend, after performing at a club in Elante Mall. Parmish was hit on his leg.
