PM Modi congratulates ZPM on winning Mizoram election, assures of all possible support

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) over its victory in the Mizoram assembly elections and assured it of all possible support in furthering the progress of the northeastern state.

The remarks from the Prime Minister came after the ZPM won 27 seats out of 40 in the state and the MNF managed to win 10 seats. The BJP won two seats and the Congress one in the recently concluded assembly election, for which the counting took place on Monday.
Congress leader Bajwa said it was quite evident now that the floods have wreaked havoc in 14 districts, severely damaging the farming sector and other occupations, including shopkeepers, small traders, and labourers. A considerable number of families in the flood-affected areas have got their houses damaged irreparably.
According to the latest official data collected post-Covid, there were around 6,000 Indian students in France in the 2021-2022 academic year. France plans to invite 20,000 Indian students in the country by the year 2025, Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said last year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honour, France's highest award, by French President Emmanuel Macron. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive the honour.
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, urged the apex court to grant Sisodia interim bail to meet his ailing wife. On it, the court issued notice and posted the matter for hearing on application for interim bail on July 28.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Friday said that the 22nd Law Commission which proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC) was not in nation’s interest. SAD said that enforcing UCC without a genuine countrywide inter-faith consensus, especially among minorities, would violate the spirit of the Constitution and generate fear.
The Chief Minister, who visited Nihala Lavera village in Ferozepur district to oversee flood relief operations, said that a special ‘girdwari’ will be conducted to ascertain the loss of crops, houses and others due to heavy rainfall in the state. He said that he has extensively touted the state to gauge the situation at the grassroot level.
