PM Modi congratulates ZPM on winning Mizoram election, assures of all possible support

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) over its victory in the Mizoram assembly elections and assured it of all possible support in furthering the progress of the northeastern state.

The remarks from the Prime Minister came after the ZPM won 27 seats out of 40 in the state and the MNF managed to win 10 seats. The BJP won two seats and the Congress one in the recently concluded assembly election, for which the counting took place on Monday.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to burn Manipur and he is not trying to douse the fire. He also said that the Indian Army can stop the violence in the northeastern state in two days.
Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), in a joint operation with Moga Police, have arrested gangster Gurpreet Singh, alias Gopi Dalewalia, who was the key shooter in Santokh Singh murder case, Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav said on Friday. The government on Friday told Parliament that as per new visa rules of the UK government, international students will not be able to switch out of the student route into work routes before their studies have been complete. This became applicable from July 17, 2023 onwards, the government said, adding that the new visa rules will affect students from all nations.
