PM Modi congratulates ZPM on winning Mizoram election, assures of all possible support

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) over its victory in the Mizoram assembly elections and assured it of all possible support in furthering the progress of the northeastern state.

The remarks from the Prime Minister came after the ZPM won 27 seats out of 40 in the state and the MNF managed to win 10 seats. The BJP won two seats and the Congress one in the recently concluded assembly election, for which the counting took place on Monday.
While interacting with youths here, Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in Leh on Thursday afternoon said, “India got freedom in 1947 and the foundation of freedom in India is the Constitution of India.”Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi also watched a football match in Leh and interacted with the people.
A team of the cyber crime police station here has busted a fake call centre and arrested 10 people including a woman in this connection, an official said on Thursday. The fake call centre was being operated from a house at Sector 43 in Gurugram.
The seats on which the party has a higher chance to win or is in a fight have been placed under A and B categories. Whereas in the C and D categories, those seats have been included where the party has won the previous election with a very small margin or where it has never won an election.
The State Special Operation Cell (SSOC), Amritsar, had busted a cross-border drugs smuggling racket with the arrest of a drugs smuggler identified as Shinder Singh after recovering a consignment of 10 kg heroin and Rs 1.5 lakhs from his possession, while a woman drugs smuggler, Amandeep Kaur, alias Deep Bhai, linked to this module was also arrested with 1 kg heroin.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday toured flood-affected areas in Hoshiarpur district in a boat to take stock of the situation. Boarding the boat with NDRF officials, the Chief Minister visited Rara and Fateh Kulla villages and then visited Haler village.
A young passenger, aged 10, who was on a Tata owned Vistara flight from Delhi to Frankfurt last week, suffered burn injuries due to a mishap involving a hot beverage spill. The child's family has criticised the airline for its inadequate response to the situation, asserting that the crew failed to apologise for the incident.
