PM Modi congratulates ZPM on winning Mizoram election, assures of all possible support

New Delhi, Dec 4 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated the Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) over its victory in the Mizoram assembly elections and assured it of all possible support in furthering the progress of the northeastern state.

The remarks from the Prime Minister came after the ZPM won 27 seats out of 40 in the state and the MNF managed to win 10 seats. The BJP won two seats and the Congress one in the recently concluded assembly election, for which the counting took place on Monday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said that new possibilities are being created for the youth as India's economy is expanding and unemployment is decreasing fast in India. In a virtual address at Kaushal Dikshant Samaroh 2023, the Prime Minister said that employment creation in India has reached a new height and the unemployment rate in India is at its lowest level in six years according to a recent survey.
The Supreme Court on Thursday reserved its verdict on a batch of petitions filed against the early release of convicts in the Bilkis Bano case by the Gujarat government. A bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan reserved the judgment after hearing both the sides on the question of validity of the remission orders setting free convicts in the case of the gang-rape of Bano and murder of her family members committed during the 2002 post-Godhra riots.

A fire broke out in Chandigarh PGI’s Nehru Hospital and 424 patients were evacuated, officials said on Tuesday, adding that the patients requiring ventilators were moved to safer areas and there was no causality. The fire incident occurred in the computer room of C-block of Nehru Hospital of the PGI around 11.45 p.m. on Monday, the hospital said in a statement.
