Pakistan Coach Mickey Arthur Claims World Cup 2019 Defeat To India Left Him Wanting To 'Commit Suicide'

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 Jun, 2019 08:11 PM

Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur claimed Pakistan's World Cup 2019 defeat to India was so painful that it left him wanting to "commit suicide".

While answering a question about the South African team and explaining the difficulties faced by a side going through a tough phase, the South African coach of Pakistan said: "It happens so quickly, you lose a game, you lose another game, it's a World Cup, the media scrutiny, public expectations, and then, you almost go into survival mode. I mean, we've all been there. Last Sunday, I wanted to commit suicide."

Arthur hoped the win against his native country would spark a revival considering the 1992 champions will almost certainly have to win their remaining matches against New Zealand, Bangladesh and Afghanistan if they are to snatch one of the top four spots to reach the semi-finals.
