Over 1 Kg Heroin Worth Rs 7 Cr Seized From Woman In Punjab

    Over a kilogram of heroin with a street value of Rs 7 crore was seized from the possession of a 24-year-old woman here, police said on Wednesday.


    The seizure was made from Eva Das, who hails from Assam, they said, adding she currently resides in Delhi.


    A police team stopped a taxi coming from Delhi and during its search found 1.260 kg of heroin wrapped in polythene in the bag of the woman, police said.


    As per the preliminary investigation, the heroin was brought from Delhi and it was to be supplied to someone in the Doaba region, they said.


    Further investigations are underway, police added.


    A case under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered against Das, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Khanna, Deepak Rai said.
