Opposition Is Afraid, So They Are Hurling Abuses, Says Sunny Deol

Darpan News Desk IANS, 15 May, 2019 08:50 PM

BJP candidate from Gurdaspur, Sunny Deol, said there is still enough time for him to become a politician, but the love and affection he is getting during his campaign would surely translate into votes for him.

Talking to the Zee media, the actor said: “To become a politician, it will take time. People are loving me and showering me with affection. I am sure this love will convert into votes for me.”

On the campaign trail, Sunny meets people, talks to them, and takes selfies with fans. The youth of Gurdaspur on the roadside is elated to see the star descend from the silver screen onto the roads.

“They are afraid as people trust me. I don’t want to speak more on the allegation levelled againt me. I wish to correct a lot of things that are affecting people here,” Sunny reacted to the Sunil Jakhar jibe at him.

Sunil has targeted Deol saying he hasn’t shown anything ‘beyond film dialogue delivery. Replying to this comment, Sunny says: “I have worked in the film Industry and helped many people there. People recognise me because of my films. I am trying to tell the people of Gurdaspur what the real issues are.”

“The way they are responding...seems they are afraid. I feel they should not be afraid, they must do their work. It doesn’t bother me what people say. They can say what they want to. I’ve never been afraid in my life. People are with me and my family is also with me,” added Sunny.

Replying to the allegations by the Congress, he says: “If I am a flop, then why are they afraid of me. People from good families don’t hurl abuses at others.”

Talking about his family’s association with the BJP, Sunny says Prime Minister Narendra Modi has no match.

“He is surely going to win. My father was associated with former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and I am with Narendra Modi ji.”
