Need For Youth To Imbibe Nehru's Scientific Temper: Modi

Darpan News Desk IANS, 28 Apr, 2015 11:03 AM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) Society should reflect thought of great leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru on good governance and there was need for youth to imbibe the "scientific temper" of India's first prime minister.

A PMO release said that Modi, who chaired the 41st annual general meeting of NMML, suggested that it should attempt to maximize the use of technology to achieve a global presence.

He said the work of NMML should also be expanded to various Indian languages to better reflect the country's diversity.

According to the release, Modi also said that NMML should attempt to reflect the thought of India's great leaders such as Pandit Nehru, on contemporary themes such as good governance, while the youth of India could take tremendous inspiration from the great leaders, in particular imbibing Nehru's scientific temper," he said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma were among those present at the meeting.
