Modi Government Allergic To Kejriwal: Manish Sisodia

Darpan News Desk IANS, 24 May, 2015 12:25 PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is "allergic" to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Sunday.

Sisodia told NDTV in an interview, a day before the AAP government completes 100 days in office, that the central government was trying to bulldoze the agenda of the Delhi government.

"The centre wants to run Delhi. They want to bulldoze our agenda, we will not allow this," he said. "The centre is allergic to Kejriwal."

Sisodia's comments came amid a bitter tussle between the Delhi and the central governments, particularly after the latter on Friday issued a notification granting supremacy to Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung in select areas.

The AAP government has called a two-day emergency session of the Delhi assembly from Tuesday to discuss the home ministry's notification.

"This issue will be resolved by the assembly now," Sisodia said.

"(We are) not afraid of controversies. We will fight with anyone and everyone who tries to block our agenda for corruption-free Delhi."

A long-time confidant of Kejriwal, Sisodia also took on the media saying the AAP government had been wrongly targeted on many counts.

"Criticism is fine but agenda driven journalism is wrong," he said. "Question us, criticise us, hang us if we are corrupt or wrong but don't spread false rumours."

Narendra Modi: Worrying Signs Of A One-Man Show
What has been feared about Narendra Modi is proving to be true. The rough-and-ready manner in which he has been imposing his writ on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may refurbish his image of being a "strong" leader, but it also highlights his Gujarat "model" of authoritarian governance, which may be a cause of concern both inside and outside the BJP.
