Minor Girl Burnt Alive In Bihar's Samastipur To Teach Family A Lesson

    A minor girl of a Dalit family was allegedly burnt alive by her neighbourhood youths at her house at Harpur Bochaha village in Samastipur district of Bihar, apparently to teach the family a lesson.
     
     
    She was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital where she died on Wednesday.
     
     
    A Class-9 student, she was reportedly studying in her room on Tuesday, when two youths surreptitiously entered her room. They allegedly tied her hands and legs and muffled her face before pouring kerosene on her and setting her afire.
     
     
    Irate locals blocked the Bidyapati Nagar-Mahanar road demanding that the accused be arrested soon.
     
     
     
    The accused reportedly absconded after committing the crime.
     
     
    Victim’s father Sunil Kumar said, “Recently, a girl of my village was abducted by another villager and we had helped the victim’s family. Since then we were being threatened. They eventually burnt my daughter alive.”
     
     
    Police have reached the spot and registered a case against the youths.
    The body was sent to Samastipur Sadar hospital for post-mortem. Raids were being conducted to nab the youths, a police officer said.
