Meerut Woman Abducted At Gun-point, Gangraped By Neighbour, His Relatives

Darpan News Desk IANS, 05 Jan, 2018 01:17 PM
A woman from Meerut has alleged that she was abducted by her neighbour on gun-point who along with his relatives gang-raped her.

The victim, who is married, has alleged that her neighbour used to stalk and eve-tease her due to which their families had a tiff as well.

"Whenever I used to go to the market, my neighbour used to stalk and eve-tease me. I told his parents as well. Our families had a huge argument and he was beaten up by my family as well, but he did not listen," the victim said.

On the day of the incident, the victim claims, when she had to gone to drop off her children to their tuition classes, "he was waiting outside and abducted me at gunpoint. He took me to an unknown place. I was held captive for seven days and raped by them."

The victim further alleges that she had complained about the stalking earlier but nothing was done by the police.

"When I went to them after the abduction, they did not file my complaint against them again," she added.

However, Meerut's Superintendent of Police (SP) Rajesh Kumar said that the woman was brainwashed by the neighbour into eloping with him.

"We received the information about a case yesterday, where the husband of a woman said that a man, who is their neighbour, brainwashed his wife into eloping with him and dropped her home after three-four days. The woman alleges she was raped by the man and his relatives," SP Kumar told.

He added that while a case was already registered against the neighbour, the probe is on into the matter.
