Ludhiana Double Murder: Dera Followers Withdraw Protest, To Cremate Bodies

    Dera followers on Wednesday withdrew the protest and agreed to cremate the bodies of the man and his son who were killed at a village in Ahmedgarh recently.
     
    DGP, Law and Order, HS Dhillon met the family and announced Rs 20 lakh ex gratia to them; Rs 5 lakh in FD for daughter Dia besides treatment for her as she has an eye ailment. He also announced jobs for two members of the family in Punjab Police.
     
    Members of the dera’s political wing gave five days to the police to nab the accused.                        
     
    As the dera political wing members were announcing the withdrawal of the protest, two followers protested against it saying the police were trying to befool them. One of the followers, Ajit Singh, even threatened to commit suicide.
