Lalu Prasad Has Kind Words For Smriti Irani, Calls Her 'Innocent'

IANS, 08 Jul, 2016 11:31 AM
RJD President Lalu Prasad today said Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani was an "innocent woman" who did some good work in the previous HRD ministry, but had no prospects in her new role as Textiles minister.

"Smriti Irani innocent mahila hai (Smriti Irani is an innocent woman) who did some good work in her earlier ministry of HRD," Mr Prasad told PTI while reacting to her shifting from HRD to Textile ministry in the latest cabinet reshuffle.

He, however, said Ms Irani of late became aggressive in other things at the cost of her principal work.

The RJD chief did not see much prospects for her in her role as Textile minister.

"Doob chuka hai yeh mantralay (this ministry has sunk deep)," the RJD chief said about the Textile ministry.

Mr Prasad said since the reshuffle was a prerogative of the Prime Minister, Ms Irani could do little against such a decision.
