India's envoy to Turkey Virander Paul passes away

New Delhi, June 21 (IANS) India's Ambassador to Turkey Virander Paul passed away on Friday. Sources said that he died following a prolonged illness.

We are deeply saddened at the untimely demise of Ambassador Virander Paul, India’s envoy to Türkiye.

A dedicated officer, he will always be remembered for his exceptional human qualities and impactful professional contribution.

Paul, a 1991-batch IFS officer, before being appointed India's Ambassador to Turkey, had served as High Commissioner to Kenya, Ambassador to Somalia, and Permanent Representative of India to UNEP and UN-HABITAT.

72 bodies found in Noida's drains in last 9 months

As many as 72 bodies have been found in the drains of Noida in the last 9 months, a police official said. The police claim that 60 to 70 percent of the bodies reached Noida through river drains from other states. ED searches 25 locations in Punjab, Rajasthan in illegal drugs case, seizes Rs 4.5 cr in cash
