Army Chief General Dalbir Singh on Thursday felicitated an all-girl team of NCC that scaled Mt. Everest last month.
 
The expedition was led by Col. Gaurav Karki along with 10 National Cadet Corps girl cadets -- Rigzen Dolker, Tashi Kaskit, Trishala Gurung, Staniz Laskit, Pooja Mehra, Baljeet Kaur, Lalrintluangi, Tsering Angmo, Sulaxchana Tamang and Kumari Nutan.
 
This was the first NCC Girl Cadets expedition to have successfully scaled the highest peak of the world.
 
The two-day expedition had was divided in two teams with first one comprising of team leader Col. Gaurav Karki, Maj. Deepika Rathore and five NCC cadets scaled the peak on May 21 and the second batch led by the deputy expedition leader Lt. Col. Vishal Ahlawat reached the peak on May 22.
