  • India protests over Pakistan alleged attempt to turn Gurdwara into Mosque

Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava with the Ministry of External Affiars in India has started a protest with the Pakistan High Commission over alleged attempts to convert a Pakistant gurdwara into a mosque.

Srivastava added, India is concerned and has wanted to call upon Pakistan to investigate the matter and take other alternative measures. “Pakistan has been called upon to look after the safety, security and well-being of its minority communities, including the protection of their religious rights,”.

Moreover,  Srivastava added that Bhai Taru Ji made a historic sacrifice in 1745 at this very gurdwara.

Punjab's Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Tuesday also condemned the incident to convert a famous gurdwara in Pakistan's Lahore city into a mosque.

The gurdwara is a place of reverence and considered sacred and holy by the Sikh community and India is feeling concerned by this act.
