Hockey Legend And SAD MLA Pargat Singh Hurt In Chandigarh Parking Scuffle

    Former Indian hockey captain and Whiromani Akali Dal MLA Pargat Singh was reported injured as he was allegedly assaulted in the inner market of Sector 9 after a tiff over parking on Tuesday night. 
     
    The accused, Kamaljit Singh, resident of Sector 22, was arrested by police stationed nearby and got bail too later in the night.
     
    It occurred around 9pm when Pargat with his staff and guards had gone to the Sector-9 market from the MLA Hostel. 
     
    After a verbal spat, Kamaljit, believed to be 25 or 26 years old, pushed and assaulted Pargat in a brief encounter that resulted in Pargat getting a fracture in the index finger of his right hand, police said. 
     
    Police were stationed nearby in the market and took the youth away.
