Shimla, July 12 (IANS) The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh on Friday at a Cabinet meeting decided to withdraw the free electricity scheme benefitting all income-tax payers.
However, the 125-unit free power subsidy to domestic consumers will continue for all other categories, including BPL and IRDP families.
A decision in this regard was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu.
The Nagaland Police have busted one of the largest drug-trafficking networks spreading across northeastern states and Punjab, Director General of Police Rupin Sharma said on Wednesday. The huge cash seizure from the premises of Congress Rajya Sabha MP Dhiraj Sahu is not a one-of-its-kind case. In December 2021, Central agencies recovered nearly Rs 257 crore in cash and documents of several properties from the house of a Kanpur perfumer and businessman Piyush Jain. The teams found 18 lockers in a cellar at Jain’s ancestral house in Kannauj. They also found a bunch of around 500 keys which was used to open these lockers.
