Shimla, July 12 (IANS) The Congress government in Himachal Pradesh on Friday at a Cabinet meeting decided to withdraw the free electricity scheme benefitting all income-tax payers.
However, the 125-unit free power subsidy to domestic consumers will continue for all other categories, including BPL and IRDP families.
A decision in this regard was taken at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu.
Recently, the Delhi Police registered an FIR after a man was duped by cyber thugs sitting abroad to the tune of Rs 83 lakh through ‘Binance Wallet’. The cyber thugs had lured the victim on pretext of investment in crypto trading.
Citing that Bharat Mandapam will become a reflection of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' (Self-reliant India) and 'Vocal for Local' campaign, the Prime Minister said: “It will become a huge stage for every event. It will become a huge medium for displaying the power of our startups.”

The Chief Minister, who inspected the sites where these hostels will come up, said five new floors will come up over the existing two-storey building of the girls hostels whereas a six-storey boys hostel will also come up in the university. He said these hostels will be constructed while keeping in view the futuristic needs of the students.
Delhi Minister Atishi on Tuesday visited the Punjabi Bagh’s Arihant Nagar where two members of the caretaker’s family lost their lives. The Revenue Minister announced that the Delhi government will provide Rs 20 lakh as financial aid to the affected family.
