The latest to join the debate is Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh who has taken to social media to lash out against certain singers for their glorification of guns and violence’ in punjabi songs.

In his tweets, he particularly mentioned Diljit Dosanjh’s song “Jatt Fire Karda” which speaks out breaking the law and shooting at places where weapons are banned.

Here are some of the scathing remarks by the ace Indian spinner:

Cart-topping song, ‘Jatt Fire Karda’ was banned on the BBC Asian Network’s daytime shows because of its controversial content.

Meanwhile, police in Punjab said that the victim was shot dead from close range after she resisted an attempt to molest her at the wedding function on Saturday night as a resort near Batala town, 220 km from here. The victim was a computer education teacher in a nearby government school.

Those arrested were identified as Parminder Singh and Navkiran Singh, a police official said, adding both have been booked for murder.

The victim's husband said that his wife was returning after getting ice-cream at the function when both youths, who seemed to be intoxicated, passed lewd remarks and tried to molest her. When she objected, one youth took out a pistol and shot her in the head.
