Gurdaspur Jawan, 3 Militants Killed In Tangdhar Gunfight

    Three more militants were killed in an ongoing counter-infiltration operation at Tangdhar, taking the militant toll in the operation that began on Saturday to five.
     
     
    An Army jawan has also been killed in the operation, a Srinagar-based defence spokesman said, adding that search operations were ongoing.
     
     
    The Army launched the operation on Saturday afternoon when they noticed suspected movement close to LoC near Pathri Behak at Tangdhar sector, over 180 km from Srinagar. There was a brief exchange of fire between militants and the Army on Saturday. Two militants were killed on Sunday in a gunfight.
     
     
    The slain soldier has been identified as Lance Naik Sandeep Singh, a native of Gurdaspur's Kotla Khurd village in Punjab.
