Girl Kidnapped Outside College Gate In Gurgaon, Rescued After 7-Hour Hunt

The Canadian Press, 28 Dec, 2015 12:22 PM
A woman was on Monday kidnapped by three unidentified men in a car from outside a college here in full public view, police said. The woman was later rescued and the three abductors were detained.

According to video footage from a CCTV camera installed outside a nearby hotel, the kidnappers dragged the woman into a car outside D.S.D. College on New Railway Road and sped away.

A few people ran after the car to help the woman but could not succeed.

A woman resident of Sector 17, who was on the spot, informed the police control room about the incident.

Police reached the college, but the authorities there told investigators that the woman did not belong to the institution.

The woman was later rescued and all three kidnappers were detained, police said.

One of the abductors was known to the woman.

"We are questioning the accused. The victim is safe. More information regarding the incident will be shared after initial investigation," Gurgaon Commissioner of Police Navdeep Singh Virk told IANS.

A source told IANS that the kidnappers belong to politically influential families.
