Former India Cricketer Joginder Sharma's Father Stabbed, Looted In Rohtak

    Former India cricketer Joginder Sharma’s father Om Prakash Sharma was stabbed and robbed of cash by two miscreants, who locked him inside his shop before fleeing from the spot.
     
     
    Sharma, who runs a small shop in Kathmandi area of the town, said two youths came to his shop on Saturday night to buy cigarettes and soft drinks. On finding the shopkeeper alone, they tried to snatch cash from him.
     
     
    When Sharma resisted, they attacked him with a knife and took away nearly Rs 7,000 from the shop. They injured Sharma and shut him inside his own shop before they fled.
     
     
    Sharma called his son Deepak, who came and took him to a hospital. The police have registered a case under Sections 342 and 379 of the IPC.
     
    Joginder Sharma, who shot to fame with a match-winning over he bowled for India in the 2007 T-20 World Cup finals again Pakistan, was inducted into the state police force as a DSP. As of now, he is posted at Hisar.
