Earthquake of 2.4 magnitude strikes near Delhi, mild tremors felt

New Delhi, Nov 29 (IANS) Tremors of an earthquake measuring 2.4 on the Richter scale were felt in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday evening.
"An earthquake of magnitude 2.5 occurred 8 km west of New Delhi at around 9.30 p.m. today. The depth of the earthquake was 5 km below the ground," the National Centre for Seismology said in a tweet.
Recently, massive earthquakes, which claimed many lives and damaged properties, were witnessed in Indonesia and Nepal.
On November 21, a deadly earthquake of 5.6 magnitude hit West Java in Indonesia, killing 321 people. The quake also left 7,729 people injured in Cianjur district, one of the hardest-hit areas, destroyed 58,049 houses and displaced as many as 73,693 people
On November 9, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 hit Nepal, killing six people besides damaging several houses. The tremors of this quake were also felt in Delhi-NCR.
The troops fired at the drone after they noticed it entered the Indian territory near the Chaharpur village, some 40 km from Amritsar city. The BSF recovered one hexacopter, an unmanned aerial vehicle, in a partial damaged condition along with white-colour polythene tagged with it, a BSF official said.
In a statement here, the SAD President said instead of instilling confidence in people of Punjab by taking appropriate steps, the Chief Minister had fled the state to campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Gujarat along with his cabinet.

Earlier on Tuesday, a Delhi court allowed Delhi Police to conduct a narco test on Aaftab on December 1 and 5, after hearing an application moved by the police on this count. Aaftab, during interrogation, was deceptive in nature and tried to mislead the interrogators.
Notably, the drive against glorification of weapons had been launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to curb this trend. Under this drive, verification of licensed weapons are being carried out, besides verifying addresses of licensees.
According to the police, the murder occurred on May 30 and so far, six body parts have been recovered while a search is underway for the missing remains. The accused have been identified as Poonam and her son Deepak. Sources said that after chopping Anjan Das's body, the duo had stored the body parts in their fridge and started gradually disposing them.
