Digvijaya Singh Took Money From MP Builder: BJP

Darpan News Desk IANS, 14 Mar, 2015 12:47 PM
The BJP on Saturday claimed that documents seized by the income Tax department had revealed Congress general secretary Digvijaya Singh had taken crores from a builder in Madhya Pradesh during his tenure as chief minister and demanded a thorough probe.

Talking to media persons here, state Bharatiya Janata Party chief Nandkumar Singh Chauhan said a builder was raided by tax officials on May 30, 2008 and apart from account books, three diaries were seized from his premises. During the probe, the builder accepted the entries in the diaries were made by him and related to his commercial dealings.

Chauhan, who is also a MP from the state's Khandwa constituency, alleged that entries in these diaries mentioned crores of rupees were paid to Digvijaya Singh, during his tenure as chief minister (1993-2003), being marked as payments to "CM" or "HCM" and all dated before October 2003.

He alleged payments were also made to Digvijaya Singh's brother and demanded central investigating agencies study the evidence carefully and take necessary action.
