Delhi's Woman Kills Husband With Lover's Help

Darpan News Desk IANS, 27 Jun, 2015 01:31 PM
A 25-year-old woman was arrested for killing her husband with the help of her lover, police said on Saturday.

Gulistan and her lover Rizwan Saifi, in his late 20s, were arrested for strangling Salim on Thursday night inside his house in east Delhi's New Ashok Nagar area.

Salim, 35, stayed with his wife Gulistan and two children. Saifi, who is a distant relative, also lived with them.

"As no sign of forceful entry was found in the house, we had suspicions over Gulistan and Saifi. On inspecting Salim's body, nail scratch marks were found on his neck and pieces of broken glass bangles were also found in the room," said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar.

"After a brief interrogation of the victim's relatives and neighbours, we came to the conclusion that Gulistan and Saifi are the main accused. They were held and during interrogation they revealed their involvement in the murder," he said.

Gulistan told police that after her marriage, Salim, who was a drug addict, regularly beat her and humiliated her.

"Meanwhile, Gulistan came in contact with Saifi and they hatched a plan to eliminate Salim," the official said.
