Delhi Girl Priyadarshini Chatterjee Crowned Miss India World 2016

    Delhi-based Priyadarshini Chaterjee was announced as the winner of the FBB Femina Miss India World 2016 by superstar Shah Rukh Khan at a star-studded event here.
     
    Bangalore-based Sushruthi Krishna and Lucknow's Pankhuri Gidwani were named the first and second runners-up, at the event held on Saturday evening, read a statement from the organisers.
     
    The jury panellists included personalities from the fashion and film industries like Sanjay Dutt, Yami Gautam, Manish Malhotra, Arjun Kapoor, Kabir Khan, Amy Jackson, Mireia Lalaguna, Sania Mirza, Shane Peacock and Ekta Kapoor. 
     
    The show was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Manish Paul, who tickled the audience's funny bones throughout the evening.
     
    The finalists were judged on the basis of parameters like talent, intelligence, poise and elegance. 
     
    The audience witnessed a dance performance by actor Varun Dhawan, which was a mix of comedy, romance and action. Rapper Badshah also rendered his energetic performance with the finalists walking the ramp during his set.
     
    Actors Shahid Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandes set the stage on fire with their moves to popular numbers. Actor Tiger Shroff captivated the audience with his high energy performance and left the audience amazed with his dance moves. 
     
    The finalists then walked to the songs of popular Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan for their Final Gown round, where the winners were declared. 
     
    The 21 finalists were introduced in Indian couture collection by designer Anju Modi. Her collection was a visual feast of old world classic. 
     
    The silhouettes were trimmed, mermaid-shaped and circular in jewel tones of pinks, crimsons, teals, and greens, with hand-crafted embroidery of zardosi in antique gold and crystals.
     
    The models were then seen sashaying the ramp in the special collection of fbb created by Namrata Joshipura. The collection highlighted iconic styles in jumpsuits, skirts, tops, dresses, culottes and shirts. 
     
    The finalists walked the ramp in the gowns designed by Falguni and Shane Peacock. The elegant gowns were seen in an array of colours like champagne gold, midnight blue, teal, black and maroon.
