Delhi Girl Allegedly Abducted 6 Years Ago Rescued From Haryana

    A girl who was allegedly kidnapped more than six year ago from southwest Delhi has been rescued from Haryana, police said in New Delhi on Friday.
     
    The girl, 16 at the time of her alleged abduction in February 2010, had gone to a nearby market in Chhawla area to buy ice-cream but did not return.
     
    A case of kidnapping was registered by the police and a search was carried out then but she could not be found, said DCP (southwest) Surender Kumar.
     
    The girl was recovered from a village in Haryana and produced before a court, where her statement was recorded under section 164 of the CrPC, he said.
     
    In her statement, she claimed that she married without the consent of her parents as they were against her relationship, added the officer.
