With India having surpassed 100,000 cases a day for the first time some tight mesures are being implemented in the capital city of Delhi. 

In effect Tuesday night on April 6th a curfew is being put in place til the end of the month (April 30th). It will be in place between 10 pm and 5 am. Non-essential travel will not be allowed. 

Frontline line workers, healthcare workers, government employees, and essential workers will not be stopped from travelling. Those in the categories mentioned above will need to show ID cards or valid passes to be exempt. 

Frontline workers, healthcare workers,  and staff at offices of diplomats only need to carry their identity cards to get exemption from the curfew, pregnant women and those with health emergencies will be allowed to travel without proof.

Public transport such as the Delhi Metro, buses, autos, and taxis will be allowed to to operate with passengers between 10 pm and 5 am who come under the exempt category. 

Delhi government minister Gopal Rai made it clear  that the curfew is not expected to lead to a full lockdown. The government is not keen on implementing a full lockdown at the moment also.
