Crime Branch's eye on released gangsters in Jahangirpuri violence

New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) The Delhi Police's Crime Branch in a bid to unearth the entire conspiracy behind the Jahangirpuri violence, has compiled a list of gangsters who were recently released on bail or parole.
Sources privy to the investigation said that the police was trying to ascertain whether the released gangsters were involved in the violence.
"We have learnt that 20 gangsters were in touch with the accused arrested in the matter. We are gathering evidence against them to make arrests in the matter," said a source.
The source said that the Crime Branch was working on several theories. One of them was that it was a larger conspiracy and the main accused Ansar and Imam alias Sonu were being used by others.
The second theory was that Ansar was mobilising gangsters to help him take on the processionists.
Once the Crime Branch team finds something concrete, they will call the released gangsters to join the investigation.
The Crime Branch is taking the help of the Special Cell and its IFSO wing to gather scientific and digital evidence to make their case watertight.
On March 24, the police received a tip-off that two members of this cartel -- Dinesh and Nazir -- have collected a big consignment of heroin from Jharkhand and would come to Delhi to deliver the supply of contraband to one of their contacts.

Responding to the question of Samajwadi Party Member Rewati Raman Singh, the Minister of State, Health, Bharati Pawar said that altogether, 22 All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) are being set up in the country. Out of 10 proposed in the first phase, six have started functioning with all departments.
