Chandigarh: Man Beaten To Death As Car Not Given Way

    A 43-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by four unidentified persons near Gazipur Sanian village falling under the jurisdiction of Zirakpur here today.

     

    The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, aka Romi, a resident of Vijay Apartment, VIP Road, Zirakpur.


    The victim died on the spot after being thrashed badly. The complainant, Pawan Saroha, a resident of Penta Homes, Zirakpur, who works as a property consultant, in his complaint to the police, alleged that he, along with his friend Kuldeep Singh and Nipun Jain, had gone to Panchkula regarding some work.


    Pawan alleged that they were heading back towards Zirakpur from Panchkula around 3 pm and when they reached near Gazipur Sanian village, four persons, who were in a Ford Figo car, bearing a Punjab registration number, began hurling abuses at them. Pawan said when his friend Kuldeep Singh, who was siting next to him objected, the occupants of the Ford Figo car overtook their car and then stopped midway.


    Before he and his friend Nipun could react, they came out of the car and allegedly thrashed Kuldeep Singh. They kept hitting Kuldeep till he fell unconscious.


    Pawan said when he and his friend Nipun intervened, they also thrashed them and fled away. Pawan told the police that he rushed Kuldeep Singh to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Pawan claimed that all suspects were drunk.


    Acting on his complaint, the police have registered a case against the four unidentified persons under Sections 302 (punishment for murder), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC at the Zirakpur police station.


    Complainant Pawan Saroha, a property consultant, said he, along with his friend Kuldeep Singh and Nipun Jain, had gone to Panchkula for some work


    On their way back to Zirakpur, when they reached near Gazipur Sanian village, four persons, who were in a Ford Figo car, began hurling abuses at them


    When Kuldeep Singh, who was siting next to him objected, the occupants of the Ford Figo car overtook their car and then stopped midway


    Before he and his friend Nipun could react, they came out of the car and thrashed Kuldeep, who was declared brought dead at a nearby hospital


    The victim, Kuldeep Singh, had got married in September last year. He is survived by his wife and parents. Sources said he was into property business.
