The deceased has been identified as Kuldeep Singh, aka Romi, a resident of Vijay Apartment, VIP Road, Zirakpur.

The victim died on the spot after being thrashed badly. The complainant, Pawan Saroha, a resident of Penta Homes, Zirakpur, who works as a property consultant, in his complaint to the police, alleged that he, along with his friend Kuldeep Singh and Nipun Jain, had gone to Panchkula regarding some work.

Before he and his friend Nipun could react, they came out of the car and allegedly thrashed Kuldeep Singh. They kept hitting Kuldeep till he fell unconscious.

Pawan said when he and his friend Nipun intervened, they also thrashed them and fled away. Pawan told the police that he rushed Kuldeep Singh to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Pawan claimed that all suspects were drunk.
