Chandigarh, May 17 (IANS) The Border Security Force (BSF) seized 15 kg of narcotics after shooting a drone near the International Border in Punjab's Amritsar sector, the paramilitary force said on Wednesday.
"A rogue drone from Pakistan violated the Indian airspace and was intercepted by BSF troops by shooting at it," a BSF officer said.
The incident was reported on Tuesday morning.
During the search operation, two big packets, weighing 15.5 kg and suspected to contain heroin, were recovered near Kakkar.
Further search of nearby areas is underway, it added.
The Health Ministry said that till now 220.66 crore Total Vaccine doses (95.21 cr Second Dose and 22.87 cr Precaution Dose) have been administered under the nationwide vaccination drive. 1,993 doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
On Wednesday night, a team of district police and excise department went to Dharauli Dhangar Toli village and arrested a woman, Gayatri Devi, along with four liters of country-made liquor. The sleuths have taken Gayatri in police van to go to the police station.
