BJP Worker Hacked To Death In Kerala

Darpan News Desk IANS, 03 Sep, 2016 02:13 PM
Another political murder was reported on Saturday from Kerala's Kannur district which has of late has seen increased political clashes between activists of the state's ruling CPI-M and BJP/RSS activists with a BJP worker found hacked to death.

The incident occurred at Thilenkery where Bineesh was found grievously wounded on the roadside by police, who rushed him to the Iritty government hospital, but he died before reaching the hospital.

According to the police, uneasy calm has been prevailing in and around Thilenkery for the past one week and Saturday it got worse with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Communist Party of India-Marxist activists taking on one another.

The killing followed an attack on the car of a CPI-M worker in which a party worker was injured.

This triggered a retaliatory attack near the Thilenkery local body office and police then found the wounded Bineesh on the road.

The body will now be moved to the state-run Pariyaram Medical College for the autopsy, while additional police force has been rushed to the area to prevent the situation from worsening.
