Aspiring Air Hostess Stabbed To Death: 3 Months Before She Was Killed, Victim Alerted Police

Darpan News Desk IANS, 07 Jul, 2017 01:39 PM
A 21-year-old aspiring air-hostess was stabbed to death in broad daylight in the national capital by a jilted lover while she was on her way to a local market in Delhi's Shahdara.

The incident took place on July 5 and was captured on a CCTV camera.

As per the report, the woman was first approached by a man named Adil. The two soon started having an argument as the woman left the place discontinuing the talk.

Suddenly, Adil took out a knife and stabbed her multiple times on a busy street in Mansarovar Park area of East Delhi. The victim tried to save herself and ran inside the shop but he followed her and continued to attack her.

As per the report, she was attacked at least seven times by the man. After carrying out the crime, the attacker fled from the spot.

The girl's family and police were informed. She was rushed to the GTB Hospital in a critical condition where she succumbed to her injuries a day later.

The police have registered a case against Adil and efforts are on to nab him. One of the police officials said, "According to preliminary information, the girl had known Adil for some time and used to talk to her frequently. However, after a while, she stopped communicating with him."

"The accused was upset over it and suspected her of being linked with some other guy. On Wednesday, he, with intentions of committing the act, initially approached her for a communication. After she refused to speak him and threatened to raise an alarm, Adil, in a fit of rage, attacked her multiple times and fled the scene," the official added.

Even after 48-hour of the crime, the accused continues to remain at large.

The victim succumbed to her injuries early on Thursday, police said.

The alleged attacker, Adil, continues to remain at large even as the police said the CCTV footage of the assault confirmed his role.

“I got a call at around 5.30 pm from a friend about the incident. I rushed to the hospital, thinking it would be minor injuries, and then I saw her condition – a missing thumb, blood around the neck, stomach…,” says Ashish, her brother, as he fights back tears.

Late at night, she passed away due to excessive blood loss, even though the brothers had donated several bottles of blood to Riya. “Jab main mila hospital mein, who hosh mein thi. Usne bola ‘bhaiya, issko zinda matt chhorna, isse jaan se maarna…bahut galat kiya hai isne mere saath,” says Ashish. He now awaits strict against Adil.

ADIL ASKED FAMILY TO LEAVE: POLICE

Minutes after stabbing Riya, the accused called his mother and younger brother and asked them to leave the city and go their village in Aligarh.

Several teams have been sent to Aligarh and Ghaziabad to nab the accused, police said. Sources said police conducted raids at his home but found the door locked. “Police managed to trace their location and are questioning them,” the sources added.
