  • Army Colonel Arrested For Raping Daughter Of Officer In Shimla
A 56-year-old Army colonel was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly raping the daughter of a lieutenant colonel posted at the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) here.
 
 
The Army colonel was produced in a local court where he was sent to three-day police custody.
 
 
The 21-year-old woman had filed a complaint on Monday and the colonel was arrested today after preliminary investigations, they said.
 
 
An FIR under relevant Sections of the IPC was registered after the statement of the victim was recorded and medical examination conducted, police said.
 
 
Superintendent of Police Soumya Sambasivan confirmed the registration of the FIR and arrest of the colonel but refused to disclose his identity.
 
 
Investigations are in progress and the accused would be produced in court today.
 
 
Police sources said that victim was keen on perusing a career in modelling and the accused had allegedly asked her to come to his place to discuss the issue.
