Apollo Hospitals launches new initiative in critical care

Darpan News Desk IANS, 27 Aug, 2014 12:08 PM
Apollo Hospitals Wednesday launched 'eACCESS', a new initiative in the delivery of critical care services.

It can help a critical care team housed at a command centre to complement the physical activities that happen within an ICU and ensure that patients are monitored continuously on a 24x7 basis, the hospital management said.

This initiative in collaboration with Philips leverages the capabilities of various technologies including two-way audiovisual communication, equipment data interface and novel representation of clinical data in various formats.

Through the eACCESS, one intensivist will be able to monitor 40-50 patients and help the care team onsite to take relevant actions in real-time to prevent complications.

he technology was launched by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.

He asked the hospital to scale up its services by building more facilities in view of the increasing population of Hyderabad.

Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister T. Rajaiah requested Apollo to conduct health awareness programmes for people in villages.

Apollo Hospitals chairman Prathap Reddy said the group has always been in the lead to bring within the reach of people the latest technology available anywhere in the world.

He said they would shortly bring the latest robotic spine surgery from Israel.

Apollo joint managing director Sangita Reddy said through technologies like eACCESS, the hospital can multiply its reach many times.
